A tent provided some shade for spectators from the morning’s unusually high temperatures. Several members of the Corona Woman’s Improvement Club attended wearing costumes in honor of Janet Gould, who was the chairwoman of the History and Landmark Section of the club when the first marker was dedicated in in 1959.
